Abstract
It is generally recognized that environmental factors influence the incidence of human cancers. Many of these environmental factors are associated with personal lifestyle habits and include smoking, exposure to sunlight, intake of alcohol, and diet (Wynder and Gori 1977). The single most important environmental factor influencing the incidence of human cancer is diet. Upwards of 40% of cancer incidence in males and 60% in females may be associated with diet alone (Wynder and Gori 1977).
