Abstract

According to W. Levingston a change of the solar energy distribution (with total flux conserved) could have an impact on climate through changes of the ocean albedo or absorption. His idea is based on the water absorption curve given by Smith and Baker (1978), showing a sharp increase in absorption at wavelength longer than 500nm. In the following we comment on this hypothesis.
