Summary
The arguments against laparoscopic hernia repair are as follows: (a) the open extraperitoneal operation is converted to an intra-/preperitoneal approach; (b) numerous methods exist without a standard procedure; (c) fixation of meshes is unsafe; (d) the indication is limited: emergency operations and children are excluded; (e) general anesthesia is mandatory; (f) laparoscopic procedures are expensive; (g) the technique is difficult and time consuming; (h) no long-term results concerning complications and recurrence rate are available; (i) the technique involves implanting foreign material; (j) there are no real advantages.
Zusammenfassung
Argumente gegen die lap. Hernienreparation sind: 1. Ein extraperitonealer Eingriff wird zum intra- bzw. präperitonealen Eingriff. 2. Große Methodenvielfalt ohne gesicherten Standard. 3. Fixation des Netzes ist unsicher und riskant. 4. Die Indikation ist eingeschränkt, keine Notfalleingriffe, keine Kinder. 5. Lap. Techniken erfordern Allgemeinnarkose. 6. Lap. Technik ist kostenaufwendiger. 7. Die Technik ist schwieriger und zeitaufwendiger. 8. Fehlende Langzeitergebnisse zu Komplikationen und Rezidivrate. 9. Implantation von Fremdmaterial. 10. Keine Vorteile.
