Zusammenfassung
Etwa 10–15% aller chirurgischen Eingriffe sind elektiv, d. h. der Termin zur Operation kann geplant und individuell festgelegt und damit der Patient optimal auf diesen Eingriff vorbereitet werden. Zu dieser Vorbereitung gehört unter anderem auch die Abschätzung des zu erwartenden Blutverlustes und die konsekutive Bereitstellung ausreichender Blutkonserven zur Kompensation des Blutverlustes.
