Methoden zur Lebensqualitätsbewertung in der Onkologie

Zusammenfassung

Im letzten Jahrzehnt hat sich in der Medizin die Diskussion über die Kriterien intensiviert, mit denen die Wirkungen von Therapien beurteilt werden können. Dabei wurde die vorwiegende Berücksichtigung somatischer Indikatoren des Therapieergebnisses oder Überlebensraten kritisiert und gefordert, auch die Befindlichkeit und Funktionsfähigkeit von Patienten in verschiedenen Lebensbereichen, d. h. ihre Lebensqualität zu berücksichtigen. Die Onkologie war mit der Frage nach dem Abwägen zwischen Quantität und Qualität des Überlebens Vorreiter dieser Diskussion. Dennoch besteht eine Diskrepanz zwischen der Forderung nach Einbeziehung von Lebensqualitätsparametern in klinische Studien und dem aktuellen Forschungsstand, speziell auch in der deutschen Onkologie. Ein Grund dafür ist die grundsätzliche Frage nach der Notwendigkeit und dem Nutzen einer Erfassung der Lebensqualität von Patienten, ein weiterer Grund die methodische Frage nach der Meßbarkeit der Lebensqualität und der Verfügbarkeit von Meßinstrumenten.
