Zusammenfassung

Zytokine sind zentrale Mediatoren der Proliferation, Differenzierung und Funktion von Zellen. Sie vermitteln und regulieren die Interaktionen verschiedener Zellen, die überwiegend zum Immunsystem und zur Hämatopoese gehören. Die Zytokine selbst besitzen keine Enzymaktivität. Sie haben häufig pleiotrope Effekte, die sich teilweise auch überlappen.
