Abstract

This chapter provides a synthesis of the benefits to be expected from woody plants and the conditions determining this potential, a generalisation of the results obtained from the SSWA to other semi-arid regions, and recommendations for the use of woody plants in agrosylvopastoral land-use systems in semi-arid regions.
