Abstract

In the lecture Donini held when he was awarded the Axel Munthe Award, he talked about his life as follows:

I attended the Leceo Mamiani School in Pesaro, where I took my “A-levels” in 1928. I obtained a degree in chemistry at the University of Bologna and graduated in pharmacy from the University of Urbino (1932–1933). In June 1935 I took up employment in the research laboratories of the Serono Pharmacological Institute.
