Zusammenfassung
Das Rektumkarzinom gehört in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland mit zu den häufigsten Krebserkrankungen. Trotz aller Vorsorgemaßnahmen werden nur etwa 10–20% aller Rektumkarzinome im Dukes-A-Stadium diagnostiziert, und bei 30% aller Patienten liegt bereits ein Stadium Dukes C vor [3]. Dabei besteht ein enger Zusammenhang zwischen der Infiltrationstiefe des Tumors und der Häufigkeit eines Lokalrezidives.
