In über 80% der HCV-Infektionen können Blut oder Blutprodukte als Infektionsquelle identifziert werden. Die Prävalenz der Hepatitis C unter Hämophiliepatienten, die mit nicht virusinaktivierten Blutprodukten behandelt wurden, beträgt 80–90% [1].
