Abstract

Intracardiac masses can be diagnosed and localized accurately by TEE. Benign tumors appear as pedunculated masses within the atria. Atrial myxomas are the most frequent finding. Malignant tumors may infiltrate the free walls of the ventricles. Tumor location and attachment and the visualization of the myocardial wall are important additional factors in the diagnosis of diverse tumor types.
