Nachdem wir im vorhergehenden Kapitel die langfristige Entwicklung der Produktionsmöglichkeiten analysiert haben, rücken wir in diesem und im nächsten Kapitel die Nachfrageseite in den Mittelpunkt. Das Zusammenspiel zwischen Produktionspotential und Güternachfrage soll dann im siebten Kapitel behandelt werden.
