In der Akuttherapie blutender Ösophagusvarizen bieten sich derzeit zwei unterschiedliche Verfahren an. Zum einen die atraumatische Tamponade mit aufblasbaren Ballonsonden, zum anderen die endoskopische Blutstillung mit lokal injizierten Substanzen zur Gefäßverödung.
