Abstract
A 3 D full field numerical model is a powerful tool for the management of a multilayered reservoir.
By providing adequate visualization of the waterflood performance at the end of the history-match, the model can be used to select actions and define the strategies to be evaluated in the predictive mode. Through this pro cess, injection strategy refinements implemented at Chaunoy in 1991 raised the daily oil production by more than 500 m3/day (25 %) in a few months.
