Abstract
Meadowfoam (Limnanthes spp.) is a spring-flowering annual, endemic to moist habitats in the Pacific Northwest from California to British Columbia. The Limnanthaceae includes two genera, Limnanthes with nine species, and Floerkea with one species (Mason 1952; Ornduff and Crovello 1968). The plants grow as low-flowering rosettes with pinnate and bipinnatifid leaves. Flowers are bisexual with 3–6 petals, 6–10 stamens, and 3–5 carpels with a fused style and separate stigma lobes.
