Zusammenfassung

Ein voller Magen bedeutet immer ein hohes Aspirationsrisiko. Seit dem Bericht von Curtis L. Mendelson im Jahre 1946 mit dem Titel „Die Aspiration von Mageninhalt in die Lunge während geburtshilflicher Anaesthesie“ wird die Diagnose „voller Magen“ in der Anästhesie mit den Begriffen Aspirationsrisiko und Aspirationspneumonitis assoziiert.
