Zusammenfassung
Voraussetzung ungestört ablaufender Lebensvorgänge ist neben einer normalen Stoffwechsel- und Organfunktion eine ständige Bereitstellung von Energieträgern und Baustoffen, Wasser- und Elektrolyten, Spurenelementen und Vitaminen mit der Nahrung. Ist die Ernährung quantitativ oder qualitativ unzureichend, d.h. nicht bedarfsadaptiert, der Patient aber keinem speziellen Streß ausgesetzt, dann erfolgt u.a. durch Stoffwechselreduktion eine Anpassung an die geänderten Ernährungsbedingungen, oder aber es treten, wenn nur einzelne essentielle Nahrungsbestandteile fehlen, Mangelzustände auf, die lebensbedrohlich sein können (Neeser et al. 1990).
