Abstract
As our program implies, I am a physicist and, naturally, at a meeting on consciousness I will be interested, first, in the influence of the ideas concerning consciousness on physics, and in the influence of our theories of physics on the understanding of the phenomenon of consciousness. But, finally and most importantly, I will try to explore the question of whether the two disciplines, physics and the study of consciousness, could be united and given a common basis — as was given, in our century, to chemistry and physics.
