The principal question which is at the center of our own as well as Prosperi’s discussion concerns the reason for the statistical, that is probabilistic, nature of the laws of quantum-mechanical theory. The equations of motion of both quantum mechanics and of classical theory are deterministic; why, then, are the predictions not uniquely given by the inputs?
