Zusammenfassung

Die makroskopische Beurteilung genügt in den meisten Fällen. Eine wichtige Ausnahme ist das Ulcus ventriculi; hier ist eine sichere Dignitätsbeurteilung makroskopisch nicht möglich. Eine chronische Gastritis kann nur mikroskopisch diagnostiziert werden1. Im Duodenum ist eine Biopsieentnahme sinnvoll zur Suche einer Mukosaatrophie im Rahmen einer Diarrhö- oder Malabsorptionsabklärung. Die endoskopische Biopsie kann heute fast immer die „blinde“ Saugbiopsie ersetzten. Bei normaler Gerinnung besteht eine äußerst geringe Gefahr von Komplikationen.
