Zusammenfassung

Schon in der Antike (Aristoteles, Ausg. 1924) war bekannt, daß epileptische Anfälle einen Zusammenhang mit dem Schlaf besitzen können. Beobachtungen dieser Art und viele weiterführende Studien (vgl. Daly 1973) ergaben schließlich eine Subklassifikation von Epilepsien nach ihrer Bindung an den Schlaf-/Wachablauf (Janz 1962, 1969).
