Abstract
Ambient air pollution may give rise to several types of health effects, ranging from annoyance reactions and acute irritation of eyes and airways to chronic inflammatory diseases, cancer and death [1]. Only malignant diseases will be discussed in this chapter, although it is realised that cancer may not represent the most important type of effect from a public health point of view.
