Zusammenfassung

Die Infiltration der Trachea durch maligne Schilddrüsentumoren ist mit schwerwiegenden Komplikationen wie Hämoptysen und mechanischer Obstruktion verbunden. Dementsprechend ist die Prognose für die betroffenen Patienten schlecht. Durch eine En-bloc-Resektion des Tumors zusammen mit dem betroffenen Trachealabschnitt und dem häufig mitbefallenen Krikoid ist eine radikale Operation auch bei fortgeschrittenen Tumoren möglich und damit eine wesentliche Verbesserung der Prognose erreichbar.
