Abstract
The short periodical oscillations of Earth rotation variations with periods ranging from 50–120 days are the most energetic oscillations after the Chandler and seasonal ones (Kołaczek, 1992a, b). They were detected by many authors whose papers were reviewed by Dickey (1991), Kołaczek et al (1991). The character of these oscillations were studied by Kołaczek (1992a, b) but their origin has not been known well. Correlations of these short periodical oscillations of polar motion with such oscillations of Atmospheric Angular Momentum variations have been carried out in this paper in order to explain the origin of these oscillations of polar motion.
