Limits on Surgery for Pancreatic Cancer

Summary

Between 1979–1992 we treated 1168 patients with pancreatic cancer. With a curative intent, 10 patients received an extended pancreatectomy with segmental resection of portal vein, A. mesenterica sup. or A. hepatica. Resection of invaded vessel segments in locally advanced cancer has not prolonged the survival period.
