Summary
Desmoid tumors are an increasingly observed extracolonic manifestation of FAP, causing severe morbidity. Modalities for adequate treatment have yet to be established, since surgical approach leads to a high rate of recurrence and reports regarding medical treatment with antiestrogens, NSAIDS, chemotherapeutica and cortisone remain anecdotal. The analysis of 20 FAP patients with desmoid tumors insinuates a profitable course of the diesease in nonsurgically treated patients.
