Zusammenfassung

Plummer führte 1923 die orale Jodidgabe ein als Operationsvorbereitung bei M. Basedow. Die „Piummerung“ ist heute nicht mehr weit verbreitet, da bei euthyreoter Stoffwechsellage ein zusätzlicher durchblutungsmindernder Effekt bezweifelt wird [3, 4]. Seit Einführung der Duplex-Doppler-Sonographie in die Schilddrüsendiagnostik läßt sich die Durchblutung recht genau nicht-invasiv messen und damit ein Effekt des Jodid überprüfen [2].
