Zusammenfassung
In diesem Beitrag wird die Leistungsfähigkeit des Fiber Distributed Data Interface (FDDI) in einem Hochgeschwindigkeits-Workstation-Cluster untersucht. Dabei werden volle Puffer und daraus resultierende Paketwiederholungen berück-sichtigt, anstatt die Leistungsdaten nur über am Empfänger ankommende Pakete zu ermitteln. Dazu wird ein klassischer Fenstermechanismus einer höheren Protokollebene eingesetzt. Der gewählten Fenstergröße wird hierbei eine besondere Bedeutung zukommen.
