Zusammenfassung
Bei der Entwicklung von Pharmaka zum Einsatz in der Allgemeinanästhesie spielte von Anfang an der Gesichtspunkt der guten Steuerbarkeit eine bedeutsame Rolle. Auf der Suche nach Stoffen mit geeigneten Eigenschaften fand man Verbindungen wie die Inhalationsanästhetika, die sich aufgrund ihrer physikochemischen Größen und der Applikationsform als gut steuerbare Anästhetika erwiesen [16, 17]. Ideale Anästhetika sollten eine rasche und angenehme Einleitung sowie Ausleitung der Anästhesie und rasche Veränderung der Tiefe gewährleisten. Sie sollten darüber hinaus eine Muskelrelaxation erzeugen. Die therapeutische Breite sollte groß sein, und unerwünschte Wirkungen sowie toxische Effekte bei anästhetischen Dosen sollten fehlen.
