Zusammenfassung

Die Basaliome, heute international und besonders im angloamerikanischen Sprachraum überwiegend als Basalzellkarzinome bezeichnet, sind (semi)maligne fibroepitheliale Tumoren mit Adnexcharakter, die praktisch nur an der behaarten Haut auftreten, von hier aber natürlich kontinuierlich auf andere Strukturen übergehen können [24, 38]. Die Abhängigkeit des epithelialen Basaliomanteils vom bindegewebigen Stroma ist ein spezifisches Merkmal und wohl auch der Grund dafür, daß Basaliome (fast) nicht metastasieren. Sowohl klinisch als auch histologisch gibt es zahlreiche verschiedene Basaliom formen, die sich zum Teil auch hinsichtlich ihrer weiteren Entwicklung und erforderlichen Behandlung deutlich unterscheiden. Eine Sonderform, bei der die Bedeutung des bindegewebigen Stromas für das Basaliom besonders eindrucksvoll ist, ist das von Pinkus 1953 [37] beschriebene „prämaligne Fibroepitheliom“.
