Abstract

Cooperative discourse behaviour in a NL Consulting System requires that users be kept informed of how the system’s utterances contribute to the current plan. In this paper we present a model for realising such behaviour based on the contents of the conversational record—a record of the mutually believed information obtainable from a discourse. The approach is formulated in the situation semantics framework.
