Abstract

In September 1987, a cooperative clinical programme on the biological therapy of tumours, supported by the Italian government, was initiated. The project included a series of experimental and clinical studies, carried out at the Department of Medical Oncology I of the Regina Elena National Cancer Institute of Rome, partially in collaboration with the Laboratory of Haematology and Oncology of the Italian National Institute of Health and the Department of Haematology of “La Sapienza” University, Rome.
