Zusammenfassung
Endogene und exogene Opioidliganden und deren Antagonisten üben ihre pharmakologische Wirkung durch Interaktion mit Opiatrezeptoren im Zentralnervensystem und in peripheren Geweben aus. Die Entdeckung spezifischer Opiatrezeptoren durch Snyder, Simon und Terenius im Jahre 1973 führte zur Identifizierung von μ-, δ-, χ- und σ- Subrezeptoren, die — je nach Spezies — im ZNS und peripheren Geweben in unterschiedlicher Dichte und Verteilung an der Außenseite der Membranen sensitiver Zellen nachweisbar sind. Die makromolekulare Struktur der Rezeptoren ist bisher noch nicht sequenziert worden, so daß deren Charakterisierung weitgehend auf experimentell-pharmakologischen Daten beruht [1, 11, 16].
