Level Splitting and Band Formation of Dark Soliton Eigenvalues

Dark soliton “bands” are found in the soliton eigenvalue spectrum for periodic amplitude and phase gratings. A generalized solution is also determined for the eigenvalues when the initial condition has three discrete regions, each having a uniform, but arbitrary, complex transmittance.
