Abstract

In this chapter the correlation effects on the spectral function of deep-hole nuclear states and related quantities are discussed. The definitions are given in the Introduction (Sect. 5.1) and the description of the spectral function in the framework of the Green-function method in Sect. 5.2. The coherent density fluctuation model result for the hole nuclear state spectral function is presented in Sect. 5.3. In Sect. 5.4 the sum rules for the spectral function are considered. The role of the short-range two-body interactions (not taken into account in the Hartree-Fock method and in the shell model) in the sum-rule analyses, as well as the momentum and energy range conditions necessary for the obtaining of experimental information are discussed in the same Section.
