Elastic Scattering of Complex Nuclear Systems

Abstract

A brief review of the evidence for nucleon-nucleon correlation effects on the characteristics of alpha-particle (Sect. 12.1) and heavy ion (Sect. 12.2) elastic scattering by nuclei is presented in this chapter. The results of the coherent density fluctuation model are compared with experimental data for alpha-particle (E α = 1.37 GeV) elastic scattering on 12C and 40Ca, as well as for heavy ion elastic scattering.
