Zusammenfassung

Bei ausgewachsenen jungen Männern wiegt die Prostata ca. 30 g und weist einen sagittalen Durchmesser bis 2,5 cm auf. Nach abgeschlossener spezifischer Differenzierung unter Andro-geneinfluß finden sich 30–50 Drüsenläppchen mit etwa 15–30 Ausführungsgängen. Diese münden in die Furchen seitlich des Colliculus seminalis ein. Die überwiegende Organmasse wird durch die Außendrüse gebildet. Diese umschließt die sogenannte Innendrüse, die durch eine fibromuskuläre Zone abgegrenzt ist. Das Gesamtorgan ist von einer kapsei- oder bandartigen Muskel- und Bindegewebsschicht umgeben mit Gefäßen und Nerveneinschlüssen, die als sog. Prostatakapsel in der TNM-Klassifikation geführt wird (Ayala et al. 1989).
