Zusammenfassung

Das Alter selbst stellt einen wichtigen Risikofaktor für die Entwicklung der koronaren Herzerkrankung dar (Doyle 1980). Inzidenz und Prävalenz nehmen im Alter zu. Die koronare Herzkrankheit wird klinisch bei etwa 15% der Männer und 9% der Frauen im Alter von 70 Jahren diagnostiziert (Agner 1985). Mit 80 Jahren steigt der Prozentsatz auf 20% bei gleicher Geschlechtsverteilung an.
