Abstract

The Bouguer-Lambert-Beer law forms the mathematical-physical basis of light-absorption measurements on gases and solutions in the UV-VIS and IR-region [1]:

$${\text{lg}}\left( {\frac{{I_0 }} {I}} \right)_{\tilde v} = \lg \left( {\frac{{100}} {{T(\% )}}} \right)_{\tilde v} \equiv A_{\tilde v} = \varepsilon \tilde v \cdot c \cdot d,$$
((4))

where

$$A_{\tilde v} = \lg \left( {\frac{{I_0 }} {I}} \right)_{\tilde v}$$

is the absorbance,

$$ T_{\tilde v} = \frac{I} {{I_0 }} \cdot 100$$

in % is the transmittance, \(\varepsilon _{\tilde v}\) is the molar decadic extinction coefficient.
