YBa2Cu3O7−δ Thin Film Flux Transformers Made by Wet Etching

Abstract

We have fabricated and tested multiturn input coils for SQUIDs. All levels were patterned by wet etching. Electrical measurements on these structures showed Tc(R = 0) > 77 K for 5, 10, and 20-turn coils. Flux transformers in the form of gradiometers were coupled to YBa2Cu3O7−δ dc SQUIDs and operated above 77 K.
