Abstract
Acute pancreatitis represents a spectrum of inflammatory diseases ranging from acute edematous pancreatitis to hemorrhagic or necrotic pancreatitis. As the severity of the inflammatory process increases, the associated morbidity and mortality also increase. Thus, precise diagnosis, staging, and detection of complications are important for appropriate patient management. Dynamic computed tomography (DCT) is currently the most accurate single imaging modality for diagnosis, for staging the severity of the inflammatory process, and for detection of complications of acute pancreatitis [1, 2].
