Abstract

The clinical course of acute pancreatitis (AP) varies from a mild self-limiting condition to an extremely severe disease with multiple organ failure and a high mortality rate. The reported incidence of the necrotizing or hemorrhagic form varies between 5% to 10% of all cases of acute pancreatitis [1].
