Zusammenfassung

Dem Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosteron-System kommt bei der Regulation der Natrium-Volumen-Homöostase eine wesentliche Bedeutung zu [12, 13, 16, 23], so daß durch hemmende Einflüsse auf dieses System wesentliche Konsequenzen für die Blutdruckregulation und die Nierenfunktion entstehen [1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 18]. Angiotensin II ist ein wirksamer Konstriktor der glatten Gefäßmuskulatur und stimuliert die Aldosteron-Biosynthese in der Zona glomerulosa der Nebennieren [5, 6, 8]. Darüber hinaus lassen sich Beeinflussungen des Nebennierenmarkes, des sympathischen Nervensystems, der Natriumausscheidung durch die Niere und zentralnervöse Wirkungen auf Blutdruckkontrolle, Durst und Salz-Appetit und die Freisetzung von hypophysären Hormonen nachweisen [7, 11, 24]. Viele dieser Wirkungen stehen in Beziehung zur Blutdruckregulation, sowohl über direkte Gefäßeffekte als auch über die Beeinflussung der Natrium- und Volumen-Homöostase des Organismus (Tabelle 1) [14, 15].
