General approach to scoring

Abstract

Each of the five components should be scored separately, and no attempt should be made to summate the scores. Moreover, a maximum score for any one of the components reflects solely on the relative inflammatory activity of that component and has no bearing on the relative activity of the other components, no matter how high the separate score for each component.
