Abstract

The existence of schizoaffective psychosis has for many decades been a matter of much discussion and controversy. This diagnostic category has been the focus of two basic psychopathological hypotheses: Kraepelin’s “Zweiteilungsprinzip” (two-disease entity) and Jaspers’ “Schichtenregel” (Jaspers 1973).
