Abstract
The normal-state dc susceptibility x dc of the Bi2Sr2Can-1CunO2n + 4+δ (n = 1, 2, 3) pellet is of the order of + 10−7 emu/g. A large Curie-Weiss component is found in x dc and the ESR spin susceptibility x ESR of the Pulverized 2201, 2212 and 2223 samples but it almost disappears by annealing. The relative magnitudes of x ESR to xdc for the annealed powders are dissimilar among the three phases; ESR of the 2201 sample is silent, x ESR of the 2212 phase has almost the same magnitude as x dc and x ESR of the 2223 phase is appreciable but smaller than x dc
