Abstract
Superconductivity is detected in the Ca-based 2-1-2-6 compound La2-x Ca1+x Cu2O6-x/2+δ (0.08 ≤ x ≤ 0.3) synthesized in O2 at a pressure of more than 10 atm. Superconducting properties of Sr-doped samples are investigated in the series La1.7(Ca1-y Sr y )1.3Cu2O5.85+δ (0 ≤ y ≤ 1) compounds synthesized under several O2 pressures. Sr-doping reduces the critical O2 pressure and produces 2-1-2-6 superconductors more easily when y < 0.5; however, it destroys superconductivity when y >0.5. With higher oxygen pressure during synthesis, a lower Sr concentration is allowed for superconductivity.
