Abstract
We present temperature dependence of elastic constants and ultrasonic attenuation of a La1.85Sr0.15CuO4 single crystal in various elastic modes. Moreover we will discuss a mechanism of the structural transition and an anisotropic elastic anomaly around a superconducting transition temperature, the latter of which is firstly observed in the present work.
