Abstract

The de Haas-van Alphen effect has been measured in magnetically oriented YBa2Cu3O7 powder in steady high magnetic fields up to 27T with the modulation technique. A broad band centered at 540T, which corresponds to an external cross-section of 0.052 ±0.003A-2, appeared in the Fourier spectrum for H//c-axis. The effective mass was estimated to be 2.1 ± 0.5 me, based on the temperature dependence of the amplitude of this band.
