Very Large Anisotropy in Lightly Doped Superconducting La2−xSrxCuO4

Abstract

Resistive transitions under fields have been measured for lightly-doped La2−x Sr x CuO4 single-crystal thin films with x = 0.06 and 0.08. They exhibit a significant broadening under magnetic fields, which is more pronounced than reported earlier for x = 0.15 in this system. It is shown from the analysis on the fluctuation-induced magneto resistance that the Ginzburg-Landau in-plane and out- of-plane coherence lengths are, respectively, 30 ~ 40 Å and 0.5 ~ 0.6 Å, giving an anisotropy factor greater than 50. The dimensionality of the electronic structure is discussed.
